In 1922, the Rickenbacker car debuted at the New York Auto Show. Named after the WWI flying ace, they cost $1500 and 1500 were sold the first day. The slogan, "The Car Worthy of the Name," tapped into the popularity of Capt. Eddie Rickenbaker. It was the first economy car l to have four-wheel braking.
